27th ST. EUPHEMIA SWIMMING MARATHON – ROVINJ-ROVIGNO 2026
On Saturday, 12 September 2026, the Delfin Rovinj-Rovigno Swimming Club will proudly organize the 27th St. Euphemia Swimming Marathon, one of the most renowned open-water swimming events in Istria. The marathon is held under the patronage of the City of Rovinj-Rovigno and the Rovinj-Rovigno Sports Association as part of the celebrations in honour of St. Euphemia, the patron saint of the City of Rovinj.
For many years, the marathon has traditionally taken place on the second Saturday of September, bringing together swimmers of all generations – from members of swimming and open-water swimming clubs to recreational swimmers looking to experience one of the most beautiful swimming venues on the Croatian coast.
The event will be held in the safe and crystal-clear waters of Valdaliso Bay, surrounded by the beaches of the Amarin Family Hotel, the Figarola public beach and the pebble beach of the "Martin Horvat" Special Hospital for Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation. This attractive venue hosts the start and finish of all three races:
Velika Figarola (3000 m),
Mala Figarola (1500 m) and
Figarolica (50 m), a children's race for our youngest swimmers.
Participants can look forward to an unforgettable swimming experience in the clear Adriatic Sea, breathtaking views of Rovinj's coastline and islands, and the warm, friendly atmosphere that has made this marathon so popular over the years.
The event is supported by the Rovinj-Rovigno Sports Association, the City of Rovinj-Rovigno, the Rovinj-Rovigno Tourist Board, Maistra d.d., Valalta d.o.o., the Istrian Swimming Federation, as well as numerous local companies and craftsmen whose contributions make this event possible.
More than fifty dedicated volunteers, club members and partners will ensure the safety of all participants and the smooth running of the event. Thanks to the generous support of our sponsors and donors, competitors can also look forward to valuable prizes.

09:00 - 10:30: Registration of participants, submission and completion of registration forms, and swimmer numbering at Valdaliso Beach
10:30 - 10:50: Start of the children’s race, Figarolica
11:00: Start of the 1500m and 3000m races
11:15: Award ceremony for the children’s race winners
13:00: Official end of the race (end of swimmer time measurement)
13:30: Lunch, award ceremony, and prize distribution

The start and finish of the race are in the sea in front of the Martin Horvat Special Hospital for Orthopedics and Rehabilitation in Rovinj, next to the closed city swimming pool.
Lunch and prize distribution will take place in the park forest next to the beach.
Participants can park in the lot on the right side of the hospital's main entrance, only a few minutes' walk from the beach where the race starts.

Children’s race for those born in 2016 or younger
Registrations:
Registration for the 1500m or 3000m races can be done via the form on the website https://my.raceresult.com/412138/ The entry fee is 25 euros per swimmer. The payment must be made by 15:00 on 10th September 2026 to IBAN HR 25 240 70001128021430, payment reference: Sv. Eufemija 2026 - First name Last name.
Late registration, if space is available, will close 30 minutes before the start.
The fee is required for participation in both the large and small marathons, and registrations are possible before the race itself.
Registration for the children’s race will be available from 9:00 to 10:30 at a separate booth. There is no fee for the children's race. Children may participate only with a signed parental/legal guardian consent form.
Registration closes on 12th September 2026 at 10:30.
A participant is eligible to race only after paying the entry fee and completing the online registration. Swimmers from PK Delfin are exempt from the entry fee.
The organizer has ensured:
- t-shirts and lunch for all participants
- medals for all participants of the 1500 m marathon
- medals for the first three places in the 3000 m category
- trophies for absolute winners at 3000 m in men's and women's competition

1a. Categories for the 1500m race:

No category-based awards, winners will be declared in the absolute male and female categories.
1b. Categories for the 3000m race: -

Propositions

Women and men compete simultaneously, but results are judged separately.

Each participant assumes full responsibility for their participation (with signature), which is not transferable to the race committee, even in the event of force majeure.

Each participant will sign a GDPR consent form at registration.

Participants under 18 must have the consent form signed by a parent or guardian.

Participants must not touch boats, shorten the course, or make contact with the shore or other swimmers during the race – goggles or a mask without a snorkel are allowed.

NOTE! When crossing the finish line, participants must touch the finish pad with the hand carrying the chip. * Participants will receive a chip for electronic timekeeping, which must be worn throughout the race. If a participant loses or does not return the chip after crossing the finish line, they must pay a 70 euro replacement fee.

The race committee has the right to modify and supplement the race regulations.
